Tithing is giving God the first tenth of your income. It is a practice deeply rooted in Scripture. Long before the law of Moses, Abraham gave a tenth of all he had to Melchizedek, priest of God Most High Genesis 14:20. Later, Jacob, made a personal vow to God: “Of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.” Genesis 28:22

This was later incorporated into the Law of Moses and encouraged by the Prophets. "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it" Malachi 3:10. 

Jesus Himself affirmed the principle of tithing, saying: “These you ought to have done” Matthew 23:23

The Apostle Paul clearly taught 1 Corinthians 9:1–14 that those who serve in ministry deserve support from their work. Using everyday examples like soldiers, farmers, and shepherds, he shows that workers share in the benefits they produce. Citing the Law of Moses, Paul applies this to ministry, reminding us that just as Priests were sustained by Tithes given to the Temple. So too, should those who Preach the Gospel, be supported today. Tithing is not just about Blessing the Giver; but, also sustaining God’s Work through His Anointed Servants. Paul states “In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel”

We pay our tithes not as a tax but as an act of joyful, obedient worship to God. In it we recognise that He as the Source of all we have. Offerings, given above the tithe, are acts of generosity done in faith and love. Together, they empower the Ministry of the Church and declare our Personal Trust in God's Provision.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...” Matthew 28:19

Our calling is Global. Giving to Missions extends the reach of the Gospel through Evangelism, Discipleship, Church Planting, Leadership Training and Compassionate Work. The Apostle Paul reminds us of the urgent need to preach the Gospel Globally: “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Romans 10:14

Your generosity helps get the Message of Christ to people and places that may never otherwise hear it. Just as the Philippian church supported Paul in his ministry, you can partner with us through your generous giving. Of this the Apostle said “Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.” Philippians 4:17

mercy & compassion

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” 1 John 3:17

Mercy giving reflects the Compassionate heart of Jesus. Cornelius was remembered before God because of his generosity to the poor: “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.” Acts 10:4

James exhorts us not to offer empty words to the needy: “If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” James 2:16

Through our Mercy Fund, we meet real needs; whether, due to illness, loss, or hardship. In it we display the Gospel in action. Paul wrote: “This service... not only supplies the needs of the Lord’s people but also is overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:12

Throughout Scripture, God’s people gave Willingly and Sacrificially to create spaces for His Presence and His People. King David gave from his personal wealth for the building of the temple: “In my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver” 1 Chronicles 29:3

In the wilderness, while the Tabernacle of Meeting was being built, the Israelites gave so much that Moses had to ask them to stop: “The people are bringing more than enough...” Exodus 36:5
